USING THE MTSPLAYER

 

1.0 Initial Login/Setting Password

 

The teacher will provide each student with his or her own UserName. To set the password, follow these steps:

 

1.      Type the User Name into the field marked, ‘UserName’.

2.      Type the desired password in the field marked, ’Password’.

3.      Click the LOGIN button.

 

 

4.      The screen will then reset with the label, ‘Please confirm your password’ below the ‘Password’ textbox.

5.      Re-type the desired password into the textbox to confirm.

6.      Click the LOGIN button to enter MTSPlayer.

 


 

2.0             Choosing a Curriculum Area and Category

 

When the student enters MTSPlayer, the screen should appear similar to the one below.

 


The checkmarks indicate that the student has assignments in those curriculum areas. Clicking on the curriculum area name will open the curriculum area to reveal the categories. This can be repeated on the category level to reveal the assigned lessons.  After the curriculum area or category has been opened, a ‘+’ button  or a ‘-‘ button will appear to the left of the name.  If these buttons are present, use these buttons to expand or minimize the selection.

 


 

3.0             Selecting and Starting a Lesson

 

Click on the name of the desired sub-category. The name will now appear highlighted in blue.

 

 

Click the START button to begin the selected sub-category.

 

Note: The student will follow this procedure for each assigned lesson. The teacher will tell the student the Curriculum Area and Category, depending on which class the student is in at the time.


 

4.0             Using the MTSPlayer

 

Each lesson will begin with instructions or descriptions.  Read any instructions or lesson descriptions. Use the forward and back arrows to view or review screens.

 

 


Some lessons will have pictures for answers like the slide below.  For these slides, place the arrow cursor over the desired picture and click the mouse button to select. Once an answer has been chosen, a forward arrow will appear at the bottom right corner of the slide.  Click this arrow to move ahead to the next question. 

 

 

 

 

Other lessons will have answer bars below the slide.  For these slides, click the bar labeled with the correct answer. Once an answer has been chosen, a forward arrow will appear at the bottom left corner of the slide.  Click this arrow to move ahead to the next question. 

 

 

Two blue bars on the right hand side of the screen keep track of how many questions are completed and how many have been answered correctly.

 

When the lesson is complete, MTSPlayer will display the score achieved. Click the FINISHED button to continue.

 


When "Finished!" is clicked, if lesson is passed, MTSPlayer will direct to the screen that allows chosing another lesson. If lesson was failed and resources are linked to the objective, we will see a screen similar to below:



5.0             Viewing and Editing Documents

 

  1. This section allows students to edit and print documents.

 

  1. From the MAIN screen, click on MY DOCUMENTS.

 

  1. To select a document, click in the box to the right of the Lesson name. A check will appear in the box and the row will be highlighted.

 

  1. Click the PRINT button to print the selected document.

 

  1. To edit the document before printing, click the EDIT button. The document will open in a text screen to allow the student to make any necessary changes.

 

  1. Click the SAVE button to save the changes.

 

  1. Click the PRINT button to print from the edit screen.

 

 

 

6.0             Exiting MTSPlayer

 

Click on the LOGOUT from the main student screen to exit MTSPlayer. This will return the application to the UserName screen. Students must put their UserName and Password in again to re-enter the MTSPlayer.
